Unknown territory! Not on the site guide but I found a few problems on it. The traverse below is enough to get me going back to complete it. |
"Ronnie lane" VB 4a * - nice n direct With a sitting start |
Left. "Slim Crack" VB 4a-- easy but nice crack practice that can work harder. |
Right-- "the poacher" V2 5c--didn't finish it due to lack of catchers! Looks like a hard finish. |
This is southwest of the mill--not the quarry site. It was just me n Jenny (not climbing) walked up the hill and I had a 1/2 hour crack at the probs. Nice they were too--good hard rock, with a top out and nice arete to climb down. Could do with a mat or a few catchers and a nettle machete! Wandering to the right--the guide describes it as overgrown etc and it is, but there's still some little sitting start routes and a traverse that had me hooked but Jenny wanting a doc leaf. Ill be back! Its worth mentioning that to get the best from the probs its worth the sitting start and disciplining to using the rock, as in places its possible to plant an grab the top. |
